Legoland - 19-Mar Part 9 - Adventure Land

Adventure Land was an explorer themed area - with Aztec themes and Egyptian areas.  There were a few of the thrill rides here - four rides in total.

Snake!
Hidden Treasure

Lego Islander Shields

Hot Air Balloon

Treasure

Family Portrait

Monkeys after honey
Vulture

Every few minutes the crocodile opened its mouth and the llama spat at it

Battle on the bridge!
On to the rides:

The Temple
This ride was a scenic run through a temple with laser guns to shoot at targets.
The ride (and I'm not sure what Tomas is doing to the Pharoah)

Camp in the queue - while we had short queues I had to wonder if, judging by the amount of queue space, they were digging up the bones of people from last season...
The side of the Temple
Found a mummy!

This puzzle kept the kids occupied for ages - there was a translation sheet for hieroglyphic symbols and a hidden message on the pyramid. Unfortunately the characters had worn off of the stone so they couldn't work it out

Snakes on the fence

Is that a staff or a snake eating a plate?

Jungle Racers
This was a fast spin around a lake. We didn't ride this one.

X-Treme Racers
This was the first thrill ride we experienced.  The kids loved it.  I was close to the height limit but managed to squeeze on.  There was no way Kristine was getting on.

At the top of the drop
Going down!

"Arrrrrrgh, We're gonna die!" - Tomas

"Just like the Mad Mouse, Tara!" - sorry for the internal joke
Falck Fire Brigade
Falck is a Nordic organization involved in preventing accidents and disease.  It is an international rescue company and emergency service.  This ride was a family vs family race.  You needed to run to a fire truck and get in to start.  That sounds easy but Alana spent about a minute pushing the doors rather than pulling before ending up climbing over them.

The fire truck
We ended up getting moving and then needed to pump a lever to make the truck move to get to the houses at the end.

We needed to jump out next - easy eh? Alana spent about a minute pulling the doors rather than pushing before ending up climbing over them. Then two people needed to pump a water pump while the others directed a fire hose into a hole in the window.  This would have been ok but the kids couldn't pump fast enough to get enough pressure to reach the wall, so Kris and I pumped.  That meant the kids needed to aim the water into the hole.  Sounds easy right?  I think the entire wall of the building got soaked, as did the people next to us, a bird flying past and the entire lot behind the walls.  Eventually we got the fire out and had to get back into the truck.  Wait for it.... Alana spent about a minute pushing the doors rather than pulling before ending up climbing over them.

We then had to change a gear to reverse the direction of the truck and pump the lever to get back.  We were about half-way back with a good lead when Cameron said "What's this do?" and flicked the lever to reverse.  The truck stopped with a shudder nearly throwing us all out and slamming me into the lever.  We managed to slam it back into forward and somehow won.  And yes when we got to the end Alana got frustrated at the door and climbed over it.

Dalmatian

Firemen

Next was Knight's Kingdom - including the Dragon and the ride the kids named the Death Drop.

  1. I hope it wasn't actually like the mad mouse - that ride was scary, old and close to falling apart!!
