Legoland - 19-Mar Part 10 - Knight's Kingdom

The Knight's Kingdom was the area I was most excited to see after the Pirate Land.  There were some cool displays, a big castle and two exciting rides.

The Castle

Alana got bitten by this slightly gropey-looking guy

While we explored, Kristine checked out the well

The kids named this one the death drop and when you see the pictures you can see why.  It was a river ride with some viking themed scenery and of course, a Death Drop.

A warning we didn't heed

Rats

More rats - these ones spat at you - or as Cam described it "They're weeing from their mouths"

Do you think he is enjoying it?

Kris wasn't too keen to go on this ride due to the big drop.  So I borrowed her waterproof jacket and put on my waterproof pants and took the kids.  A small drop of water hit my toe.  The kids wanted to go again and this time I got a single drop of water on my shoulder.  Then we convinced Kris to come on - the drop wasn't too evil and she was missing lots of cool scenery.  I assured her that we didn't need waterproof pants so we packed them back in the bag and I gave her the jacket back.  I bet you think I was going to say we got soaked... but we didn't, I got a tiny splash on my toe again.  The ride then returned back to the start and no-one else was queuing so we asked if we could go again.

This time the timing must have been slightly different.  When we got to the Midgard Serpent there was normally an explosion and water sprayed up.  This time it happened just as we were directly alongside. The water sprayed all over my front.  I was able to wring the water out of my jeans and the kids laughed at the water pouring down my face.  "At least my back is dry," I joked.  Then when we came to the Death Drop I had my back to the fall.  Since I weighed more than the kids I'm guessing the front dipped slightly and the big wave of water crashed straight down my back.  Icy cold water.  I was absolutely soaked.  The kids and Kris got a little damp, but I was dripping.

We got off after that and got some worried looks from people in the queue.  It was about 10 degrees C but the sun was out and it wasn't too cold.  I dried pretty quickly.

The Dragon
The Dragon was a themed roller coaster.  I took the kids on first and convinced Kris to go on it as it wasn't too wild and it had some cool models. The third time I took the boys on it while Alana went on the Caterpillar ride.  I took a few photos but it was hard because the ride moved fast and blurred most.  Then I must have been seen on the security camera because a voice came over the loud speaker "Put the camera away."  I think they thought it was risky because it was a roller coaster and it could fall and injure someone, but it was pretty mild.

The Dragon

Washing hanging in the entrance - I'm guessing he went on the Death Drop
A feast - note the dragon and dog fighting over the drumstick at the bottom

Jester, the bear (and no maiden fair)

Banquet

The dragon fed a potion to the wizard making it glow different colours
Butt kicking machine in the torture chamber - there's also a rotating feather foot-tickling machine

The only picture I got of the huge dragon before I got told to put the camera away

Next stop - Polar Land
