Legoland - 19-Mar Part 8 - Legorado Town

Legorado town was Legoland's Wild West.  It was pretty cool and there were plenty of Lego statues, a few rides and some shops. I was a little disappointing that the buildings didn't have as much of a lego theme, but this was made up for by the statues and displays.

Entering Legorado

Everyone needs a mule

Piano Player

We were worried about the fact there was a wanted poster for a baby with a woman's head grafted onto it's shoulder - freaky!

Wanted by circuses world wide

One of the shops was the "Go Figure" shop where the kids were able to build a custom Lego figure each from a large selection of body parts and accessories:

So many choices - It took almost half an hour to finally make their models

The end selections - Tomas' axe murdering wizard/zombie, Cameron's grumpy graphic designer who loved coffee and Legoland and Alana's Mrs Claus on her day off (with coffee) - getting a very coffee theme here..
Mount Brickmore
This huge statue was visible through much of the park

We can't fire - The gunpowder is too wet!

Alana makes a new friend

Indiana Jones

This guy got locked out of his hotel room

The rides:
Lego Canoe
This was a log flume style ride.  Mostly scenic, there is a big drop at the end.  I went with Tomas and Kris went with Alana and Cam.  It was the first real ride we went on and Tomas spent most of it saying "We're going to die." When we survived the big drop he shouted at the top of his lungs "I'm alive! I'm still alive!"  It gave the ride staff a good laugh.

Buffalo in the waiting area

Skunks

Moose
Mountain Lions

Tomas was sure the vultures were waiting for us to go over the drop
The bear
Going up

LeGold Mine
This was an area where people could pan for gold and then pay to have it made into a medal
LeGold Mine

Western Ride
A classic merry-go-road

Chief Longears' Indian Camp
There's something odd about a Nordic Indian.  But Chief Long Ears has been a fixture at Legoland for ages.  At his camp the children can hear stories and toast bread over a fire.

Ghost - Haunted House
We headed over to the haunted house and arrived just in time for a meet and greet with Lord Vampire and the Evil Scientist.
Scary Faces!
Spider! Almost as big as we get them in Australia

Most of the rides had Lego pits for the kids to play with while they waited in line
Lord Vampire

Lady Vampire

Skull

Ghost!
The haunted suit of armour moved forward as you approached.  Note also the fighting rats

Outside the kitchen display were controllable torches.  When the lights were shined on the ghosts the models moved

The mirror maze

More rats

I loved the book the mummy was reading

Mad Scientists Lab

Once you passed the scientists lab you were strapped into a ride.  The Scientist explained in Danish and two Lego ghosts at the side of the room translated to English and German. "Really? He says he can make you float!"  The seats then rose and dropped like a tower drop ride.

Once we survived the ride it was onward to Adventure land!
