Today we decided to start out early and head over to Denmark. This time we wanted to go a bit further than we had before and visit some of the Danish Castles.
I made a big plan that involved six hours of driving and took us to five different castles throughout Denmark... Ok in the end it was pretty ambitious, we only made it to three castles but it was a great day and some awesome buildings and gardens.

Where we actually went |
We saw a few things of note along the way, most markedly was a roundabout that also had traffic lights - that was quite strange.. There were lights at each entrance/exit but it still functioned like a roundabout (its hard to show in photos):
Heading into the roundabout - you can see the first lights ahead for the first turn-off |
Passing the first lights, you can see the next set on the left |
We bought ourselves a Bridge Pass that automatically charges when you cross the bridge. Its great because it means you don't have to stop for tolls (you still need to stop for passport checks on the way back into Sweden) and you also get half price tolls. But best of all it has an awesome name: BroPass. (bro meaning bridge). If they end up with a bridge between Australia and New Zealand they could have the CuzPass..
The Øresund Bridge is mostly above ground, but it does go underground for the bit just before Denmark. There was a naturally occurring island called Saltholm so they created an artificial island for the tunnel and called it Peberholm (pepper island).
Below are a few time-lapse videos of our drive including crossing the bridge:
