USA - Part 6 - Disney Hollywood Studios (part 2)

The next part of Hollywood Studios was the Muppets Courtyard.  This area used to house the whole backlot area but after the shows there were closed only the Muppets 3D show remained and we didn't end up heading into this area.

Pixar Place
There was a Toy Story Mania ride here but we didn't ride it.  We only had a brief walk through Pixar Place as it was a short dead-end alleyway.

Animation Courtyard
This section was where we stopped to have our first lunch and then we headed into the shows here to try to escape the heat.

We skipped the Little Mermaid show and but checked out the other two features.

Walt Disney: One Man's Dream
This was a walk-through exhibit followed by a movie about the history of Disney.  While the show and exhibits were interesting, the air-conditioning was the real winner here.

Meet and Greet with Chip and Dale
The kids had a chance to have a meet and greet with Chip and Dale and were excited to get their photos taken with the characters. We got 14 professional photos taken here:

The next area we visited was the main Star Wars area which had several sections - there was a meet and greet with Chewbacca and Kylo Ren, a small movie of highlights from the movies and a display of artifacts from the movies (and a couple of Jawas).  The first order storm troopers were also patrolling the area warning people to stay behaved.

Sunset Boulevard
The final area of Hollywood Studies was the Sunset Boulevard where the main thrill rides were and also the site of the Fantasmic show.

The Rock'N'Roller Coaster
This was my favourite Disney ride - it was a thrill rollercoaster with high speed a corkscrew and loop the loop.

Our second ride photo - we even got Kris on this one!

The guitar - the  strings extend making a track that leads to the upside down car at the entrance of the area

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
This was a themed drop ride that was based in an old Hollywood hotel and set as a Twilight Zone episode.  The first time through Tomas was sure they said "You are now entering the Toilet Zone" and was a little confused.

After an introduction movie and a walk through the guts of the hotel you board a service elevator which rises and follows a track to the drop area.  It then rises to the top of the building and the doors open to show outside. The ride then falls and rises multiple times.

Fantasmic
Fantasmic was the light and firework show for Hollywood Studios.  It focuses on Mickey Mouse's dream and the evil witch trying to take it over.  It consisted of fireworks, projections on water, explosions of water and fire and live actors on boats and on the stage.

I videoed the show but the files are too big to upload.  Overall it was an enjoyable show with some cool effects and music.

After the show it was time to bid farewell to Hollywood Studios and move on to the next park.
