USA - Part 11 - Magic Kingdom (part 2 - East Side)

The eastern side of the Disney Park starts with Fantasy Land directly behind the castle and filling the northeast and Tomorrow Land south of that filling the southeastern edge of the park.

Fantasy Land
Fantasy Land was the largest section of the park and covered fairies, fairy tales and most of the animated Disney Movies.

There were lots of rides and themed shops and restaurants.

It's a Small World
This is an iconic Disney ride and we had to ride it, even though I was worried it would be so sweet I'd need insulin after...

Overall it was pretty good, the animatronics were cool and the world themes were fun to see:
I filmed the whole ride but only the small end section was small enough to put up on here:

Mad Tea Party
This spinning cup ride is pretty famous in Disney and we jumped on it because it had no wait time.  When we hopped off, we got some cool shots standing in front of the ride at night.

 Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
This themed roller was new and hence had massive lines - usually 90-120 minutes.  The FastPass was booked out well in advance.  We had booked our FastPass for this ride as soon as we were able (3 months in advance) but since we shuffled the order of the parks we did from the original plan we ended up with the possibility of changing the FastPass for this one.  In the end we decided to head to Magic Kingdom in the morning we were heading to EPCOT so we at least had a chance to ride this - if we changed the FastPass we'd never be able to book another one for this one.

We had a bit of a scare on the bus on the way to the park when I got an email saying that the ride wasn't running that morning and we should change our FastPass, but when we got there the ride was working and we were able to get on.

Here's the ride photos and video:

Meet and Greet - Merida
Since the kids had the chance to meet their favourite characters, Kris wanted a chance to meet her favourite Princess - Merida from Brave.

Tommorow Land
While this is the last place on my list of the park it was the first part we visited, as we had a FastPass for the ToyStory ride and Space Mountain.  This section was based on future and technology and housed several rides, shows and shops, including the last of the three "Mountain" thrill rides - SpaceMountain.

Welcome to Tomorrow Land

This big stone globe was able to rotate easily in the water, but once it stopped it was impossible to move

Astro Orbiter
This ride was located on top of the central building in Tomorrow Land and was a spinning ride.  We didn't go on it, but we could watch it running from almost anywhere in Tomorrow Land.
Astral Orbiter
Tomorrow Land Transit Authority People Mover
This was a monorail-like vehicle that travelled around Tomorrow Land. It was a concept for an emissions free mass transport.  We found it a good way to get an overview of Tomorrow Land.

Buzz Lightyear's Ranger Spin
This was our first ride at Magic Kingdom - a moving car shooting gallery.  On our first ride the ride stopped part-way through so we were able to get scores of over 200,000 as opposed to the normal scores of around 50,000.

Monsters Inc Laugh Floor
This was a fun show and not just because of the air conditioning.  The comedians/actors interacted with the audience and asked questions, picked on people in the audience etc.  This was especially cool as it was an animated show so it felt really immersive.

Space Mountain
This was Cameron's favourite ride at Magic Kingdom - a space rollercoaster that took place in mostly darkness.

 Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
This was a recreation of a show shown at the World Fair, showing how life has changed over the years.  The animatronics were amazing and the show was quite entertaining (and airconditioned!)

Electrical Parade
The Electrical Parade was pretty awesome, we caught it in Adventure Land. It has a load of light-up floats, the kids loved it.
