Alana's Exhibition (1-June)

The first of June was a big day for Alana - her end of PYP (Primary Years Program) at school - this is the equivalent of Year 6 in Australia.  As part of her work, she was put in a team and needed to create an exhibition that spanned across a variety of fields - art, maths, research etc.

Her team's focus was on transportation.

They needed to dress neatly, which unfortunately meant a trip to the shops for some nice clothes.  The girls in her class were looking forward to finally seeing Alana in a dress, but we disappointed them, as Alana really wanted pants.  She scrubbed up pretty well though, and looked much older in her new clothes:

The exhibition went really well and Alana had some comments from the old children that they were impressed with the exhibit and how she explained it.

They had a car model for their art component, a submarine made from a coke bottle for their wow factor item (it moved by vinegar and baking soda) and a multimedia/music component with a variety of transport sounds for students to guess.
