Tykarpsgrottan and Copenhagen with Nathan (3rd -4th Dec)

We had a visitor arrive from Australia, my friend Nathan who was going to stay with us for a couple of weeks. I still had work, but we wanted to show him as much of the area as we could.

Since we hadn't seen many Christmas Markets lately (lol), we decided to head out to a market we had heard about - Tykarpsgrottan, a Christmas Market in a cave and then to the market nearby at Katrintorp.

It was an hour and a half drive to the cave and some interesting scenery.  When we got to the cave we easily got a park in the crowded carpark, so we figured we were getting lucky.  Then we saw the line.  Surely it couldn't be for entry to the market - we wandered around and yep.. There was one person selling tickets and a line of around 200 people waiting.  It was moving at about a person every couple of minutes so we realized there was no way that we were seeing this market :(  If you think I'm exaggerating:

Yep thats part of the line - click to expand
it continues...

then around the corner
then to the ticket booth

So we headed back to Malmo.  Unfortunately after the hour and half drive back, we realised that the Katrintorp market closed early and we missed that one two.  Two markets and both a bust..  Sorry Nathan..

The next day we decided to take Nathan across to Copenhagen and show him around.  The day started well also, when we were in the bus Kristine realised that she had forgotten the Tivoli pass - still it could have been worse, we did have our passports..

We did the usual tour - the Star Fort, the mermaid, Amelienborg Palace, Nyhavn, Strøget and down to Tivoli.  I didn't take many photos as we had done the tour many times, but we did stumble across a cool market.

It was called Remake Christmas - and was a recycled craft market where the kids could build things for free using recycled materials.  They had a ball:
