In July, we finally got another international rugby game in Adelaide, this time the AUNZ Invitational XV vs the British and Irish Lions.
The Lions are made up of combined players from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, and the AUNZ Invitational was a combination of Australian and New Zealand players.
The event itself was awesome and the stadium was packed, but the game was a little underwhelming. the AUNZ Invitational team has only trained together for a couple of weeks prior to the game and it showed on the field.
The AUNZ team ended up going down 48-0 and never really looked like they were challenging the Lions.
One huge highlight was Tomas getting to run out for a game of Tri-Tag on the field at half-time, an awesome experience for him. They also got to meet some of the players before the game at the Junior States competition:
Overall it was a fun night out and great to see some rugby in Adelaide, but the game was a bit lackluster.
