The next day we headed out to Legoland.
I've made a few Legoland posts in the past with a lot of info, so this will one will be quite a bit shorter.
It was a pretty wet and gloomy day for Legoland, which served us really well. There must have only been a hundred or so people in the park all up, so it felt almost empty. In some cases we were able to stay on the ride and ride again - Kristine and I rode the Polar Explorer three times without getting off. The longest line we experienced all day was about a minute. Of course, on the flip side, this meant that a lot of the shops, guest characters and sideshows weren't running either, but it was still a great day.
I'll focus mostly on what was new. Firstly there were still a lot of Halloween decorations up - lots of pumpkins as well and skeletons and tomb stones.
Secondly, there were several new build stations added throughout, including some boat racing areas, where boats could be built and raced down water mazes. There was also a new section - Lego Movie Land.

The seats were a little wet on this one |
Another new section was the car build zone, which was similar to the one in Lego House:

The new section was Lego Movie World. Based on the Lego Movie, it had four new rides, Benny's Playship (a kids playground), Emmets Flying Adventure (a 5D movie with full surround image above and below - that made Kris very motion sick), Unikitty's Disco Drop (which is a kids drop ride) and Apocalpyseburg Skybattle (a flying spinner where you can control your plane to flip over).

The only downer for the trip was an issue with the Sky Battle ride. The kids pushed me to go on and so I joined them in the 'line' which was two people. For the ride you sit in a plane and can control it with two side flaps which you push up and down:
At the end of the ride, it slows down and the planes return to upright and lock into place for it to land. However once the ride started I tried to flip my plane and ended up upside down. That was fine, but I wasn't able to right it at the end of the ride. The ride slowed down and I couldn't get enough momentum to right the plane, so when the interlocks kicked in, my plane was stuck upside down. They couldn't lower the ride as I would have hit my head on the concrete, so we just kept spinning slowly while they tried to reset my interlock. Finally, after about a minute or two, I was able to get it to lock upright and we could land. I'd ended up spending about 5 minutes upside down. I didn't think much of it until I got off and was greeted by the ride operators and three guys in Lego uniform who checked if I was ok. After being assured I was fine, we were given a voucher for a free drink.
At the end of the day we had to finish with the stupid-sized Legoland icecream:
Our day wasn't completely over though. There was a new Lego Castle Hotel built and we had to check it out:
We then headed back to our cabin to pack and get ready for the drive to Germany the next day.
