Fleurieu Strawberry Farm and Kris' Birthday at Glenelg (27-28 Oct 2018)

The end of October sparked the beginning of the strawberry season and we were keen to get some for making jam and of course eating.

The weather was great over the weekend, so we decided to head down to the Harvest the Fleurieu Strawberry Farm where we could pick our own.  It was $4 entry per person (but you could help yourself to strawberries as you walked) and then a further $10 for a 1kg punnet (Link for their website).  We ended up picking 2kg and eating probably close to that amount!

This one? Keep it, eat it or throw it?

Unfortunately there was a huge mud puddle at the far end of the rows, that the kids 'accidentally' walked through:
It was an accident! See!
It was worth it to get this strawberry though!
But that one never made it to the punnet...

The next day was Kristine's birthday.  The boys got her a fishing rod, Alana got her an exercise/massage roller and we all got her a water tank for camping.  Then I outdid myself with romantic presents and got her a chemical toilet... Hey, before you send me the abusive emails it was the last thing we needed to finish our camping set (for wild camping) and she'd been wanting one for a while.

For her birthday dinner we took our kids and the nieces (who we were babysitting) out to Glenelg for dinner at Montezuma's Mexican restaurant, Andersson's Icecream and a walk to the beach for sunset:

Our weekend was topped off by fixing up the trellis for the neighbour two houses down.  Cam threw a soccer ball at Alana, who kicked it so hard it flew over the goal, over our fence and then through the trellis at the house 2 doors down.  It took about $200 a couple of hours but we managed to get it replaced:

Umm... Whoops
