In the few days after we got back from Ireland, Malmö finally got some winter weather and that brought snow!

Snow! |
The weekdays were pretty light, leaving a slight dusting, but by the weekend we had a decent build up. We also had several days of -8 degrees or so, and that meant that the lakes and beach were starting to freeze over.
On the Saturday of this weekend, we had Tomas' friend Leo over (we were supposed to have another of Tom's friends and one of Cameron's but they all came down sick with the dreaded Swedish Winter Stomach Flu). When Leo went to sports training on Sunday we planned to meet him again later in the day to go ice-skating and tobogganing, but unfortunately he came down sick too!
We didn't let that stop us, so we headed down to the beach in Bunkeflostrand. The water at the shore had frozen out for about 100m (and it was normally only ankle deep anyway). Kris and I stomped around a bit to make sure that the water was frozen enough for the kids to skate and fortunately it was (otherwise we would have got cold and wet ankles).

We almost spent as much time getting the skates on as we did skating |

Even Kris had a turn - cautiously but she did manage to move and avoid falling |
