Knowing that we were starting to get to the pointy end of our trip and we had lots more we wanted to see, we filled a pot with ideas for trips. This weekend we pulled out the Skåne Djurpark (Skåne Animal Park).
The kids had been to the park with one of our friends on the weekend that Kris and I went to England, but we'd never been.
The park was focused on Swedish animals, so we were quite keen to go and see moose and bear.
There is a saying in Sweden - "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes" and we tested that one, because it was pouring with rain when we headed out:

The weather really didn't look promising |

The park entry - themed up for Halloween |
After entering through the shop we came to the goat paddock, but all of the goats were taking shelter in their huts - smart animals. So all we saw was the giant pumpkin:

One of the themes of the park was the book "The Little Mole Who Knew It Was None Of His Business" - (Literally in Swedish the translation is "The little mole who wanted to know who crapped on his head"). The story is about a mole that surfaces one morning to have a large turd drop on his head, so he goes around the farm trying to work out what animal pooped on him. It teaches kids about how different animals poop. It also happens to be one of Kristine's favourite books, so she enjoyed the themed sections:

We've all had those sort of mornings... |

I'm not sure how this face hole was really supposed to work - it came out something like Aliens. |

And rabbit poo (I love the cross-eyed bliss on the pooping rabbits face) |
Our next stop was Shaun the Sheep Land and the tractor ride -

The toilet icon on the map was also mole based. |
Throughout the park there were small campfires where you could warm up or purchase marshmallows, hotdogs or apples to roast:

Most of the animals were smart enough to stay hidden from the rain, but we did manage to catch some of them:

The kids found an adventure playground that was a little wet but fun |
|
Climbing and Balancing |
|
Trash Pandas! The Swedish name for Racoon is "Tvättbjörn" or washing-bear as they wash their food before eating |
And then we came to what I wanted to see - the Alg! (Moose)
|
Moose |
But first there were moose races to be had:

I'm not sure who won, but they managed to scare off a little kid |

After seeing all the animals we decided to try the new skywalk that had just been created. We didn't see a huge amount of animals (most well sheltering) but it was good fun. I liked how they used different wooden patterns for the boardwalks:

Our final stop was the bears who had just been fed:
